SDIETTechies — a student-led tech community at SDIET

SDIETTechies is a student-led tech community at Satyug Darshan Institute of Engineering and Technology. Our mission is simple: help students learn real-world skills, build meaningful projects, and grow their careers—together.

Why SDIETTechies exists

Engineering classes teach fundamentals, but the industry expects hands-on experience, collaboration, and problem-solving. We bridge that gap through peer learning, mentorship, projects, and events that turn knowledge into outcomes.

How we help students

Workshops and Study Jams: Web, Mobile, AI/ML, Cloud, Git/GitHub, and more Project Tracks: Small-to-large projects with mentorship and code reviews Career Support: Resume reviews, mock interviews, and roadmap sessions Events: Hackathons, meetups, guest talks, and community showcases Open Source: Guided contributions to real projects (including this website!)

The story and the founders

SDIETTechies started in August 2024 as a small group of builders who wanted a place to learn and ship. With momentum from campus events and growing interest, it evolved into an open, inclusive community.

Founder Vikash Kumar

"Starting SDIETTechies was about creating what I wished existed when I was learning to code. I wanted a space where students could fail, learn, and succeed together—not just compete. Every workshop we host, every project we build, every late-night debugging session reminds me why this matters. We're not just teaching code; we're building a generation of builders who support each other."Vikash Kumar

What makes us different

  1. Peer-to-peer learning: Students teach students, creating a collaborative environment where everyone grows together
  2. Real-world projects: We don't just learn theory—we build actual applications, websites, and tools that solve real problems
  3. Open culture: No gatekeeping, no judgment. Whether you're writing your first "Hello World" or building complex systems, you belong here
  4. Industry connections: Regular guest sessions with working developers, startup founders, and tech leaders from the industry
